Like everyone involved in horse racing, I care about the well being of horses.
The most gut wrenching sight is seeing a horse break down on the track, knowing
that many equine injuries are fatal to horses. These injuries can happen to a horse
anywhere, be it the at the track, a training facility, on a ranch or a farm, or in the wild.
Over the years, horse racing authorities have identified and banned practices and substances
which have caused undue injury or sickness to horses in the racing industry and they
continue to monitor the sport, making changes that prevent as many horse injuries as possible.
I applaud those efforts.
